Another One Bites The Dust

It didn't take long for an eagleparbirdie.com reader to respond to my post about the impending demise of Golden West Golf Club in Edmonton, Alberta.
The course will be plowed under to make way for an industrial park.
The response comes from Jeffrey Prest, a British sports writer and golf blogger. Jeffrey's passion is golf course design, so I can appreciate his angst over the end of Golden West.
However, it seems that a course near and dear to Jeffrey's heart is facing the same kind of doom. And it is a classic reminder that the fate of many a golf course is rarely in its own hands these days.
At any rate, you can read Jeffrey's post here concerning Mount Oswald golf club in the north-east of England.
