Knowing Tiger Woods can be very helpful. Practicing with Tiger can vault you into the winner's circle.

That's Arjun Atwal's take after he captured the Malaysian Open on Sunday.

The Indian golfer who lost his PGA card last season thanks to a bad back and legal problems stemming from a fatal car crash was hoisting the trophy on Sunday evening.

And he had Tiger Woods to thank.

Atwal says the two often practice together at their Orlando golf club.

"He doesn't give me lessons but anytime I have problems, I can ask him and he'll help me out".

Congratulations to Atwal and kudos to Woods for being a true sportsman.

Interestingly, Atwal reports that Tiger spent a lot of this winter around the greens practicing his new short game shots: hooking and fading chips.

There is no end to the man's wizardry.

Canadians in the eastern part of the country - from Ontario to Newfoundland - are digging out after a two day storm dumped more than 40 centimeters of snow in many locations.

We've had a brutal winter for snow this year; records are falling left and right. And Canadians are pretty much at the end of their leashes.

So when I read that the European Senior's Tour wrapped up the Barbados Open this weekend, I grit my teeth and begin to growl like a dog.

Scottish golfer Bill Longmuir won and Ian Woosnam in his first Senior's event, placed fifth.

Said Longmuir afterwards "I'm not flying home until Tuesday so I'm sure there'll be a few drinks sunk between now and then". He went on to say the leisurely respite would be spent on Woosie's boat.

It seems Woosnam has a home in Barbados with a big catamaran moored nearby.

That's just too much for a snowed-out Canadian to take. I hope they all get sunburned and the boat sinks...
