Best Swing Ever?

2007 winds down and the conclusion of another year often leads to reflection.
As I look back on the year, the first for eagleparbirdie.com, and consider all that has been written and commented on, there is no doubt in my mind that the single greatest generator of feedback has been the Stack and Tilt golf swing.
Golf Digest introduced the theory to the golfing public in early summer and the response was instant.
I and many other bloggers wrote about it extensively; my comments often resonated with more than a seed of doubt.
But, far and away, Stack and Tilt has had an overwhelmingly positive reception from those who have tried it.
For those who have been blown away by the results, Stack and Tilt has cured one problem common to many of them: the weight transfer.
The vast majority of golfers who are shooting terrific scores talk about how the swing has eliminated their difficulty in getting weight to the back leg and then transferring it to the front leg on the downswing.
Here's the latest comment I have received. It comes from Marc and sums up the kind of impact Stack and Tilt has had on many, many golfers.
"I am an 8 index and have been working with a pro for the past two summers with no improvement. Very frustrating.
Weight transfer and follow through have always been my issues.
This swing eliminates the first and makes the second a natural movement.
I played the last three rounds of this year using the Stack and Tilt with no practice, off of my club's back tees and in windy conditions.
I have a bad left hip and have lost overall mobility.
My chiropractor has no problem with the swing and he services Canadian Olympians.
To reiterate. I shot my handicap using it with no practice - just an index card summarizing the swing in my pocket.
I'm convinced.
At my winter golf schools all the crusty old pros look at me like I have three eyes but I have caught them trying it.
I hit my drives well and my short game works very well with this.
It's much simpler. The article in Golf Digest is all you really need and it makes sense.
Just try it.
The only hint is to really watch your tempo as it tends to speed the swing up".
This is a swing that appears to work for recreational golfers. It is also working very well for more and more professionals.
The argument is often made in motor racing that technology on the starting grid eventually makes its way into the vehicles we buy and drive every day.
The same can be said of golf equipment, of course.
But this is not technology; it's golf's equivalent of a new driving style.
Whether or not Stack and Tilt is like a new car model that grabs market share quickly but later gets recalled remains to be seen.
As this year draws to a finish, Stack and Tilt is the runaway best seller.
