Rankmark is an interesting company within the golf industry in North America.

The firm conducts a wide range of club testing, using amateur golfers of varying handicaps, both men and women and publishes the results on its website.

Rankmark was founded a decade ago by Charlie Mandel and is now in the hands of new owners who bought the company late last year.

Andrew Birnbaum and Paul McCormack are now running the company.

Birnbaum is the former COO at Sonartec and had an insider's vantage point as that promising equipment maker went into its well-publicized death spiral last year.

McCormack, who is Rankmark's COO, hails from Scotland. In fact, he told me his dad works in the museum at St. Andrew's. McCormack has plenty of management experience with major global corporations like PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and Ernst and Young.

Earlier this week, I interviewed Andrew Birnbaum about the plans for Rankmark as the two men take the company forward in a very rocky economic climate.
