Finding a Balance: PSP Games and Outdoor Sports

It's an easy temptation — you spend your afternoons in the comforts of your home, slaying impossible creatures, indulging in the happy violence. It's a relief from the frustrations of your work, your friends, your obligations. It's a moment that is defined purely by your own desires. PSP games offer undeniable thrills.
They also, however, offer an undeniable addiction. They become obsessions, rather than idle hobbies. And, while their excitement can't be disputed, their ability to become the only form of exercise in your life must. These games can and should be played. They must simply also be balanced with outdoor events. The reasons are clear:
1. Battle obesity: The terrible trend within the United States (and the world) is one of sagging waistlines and too plump bellies. Technology has become a convenience and people indulge in it often — so much so that they forget the value of movement. While the action and adventures of online platforms shouldn't be refused, they also must be countered with vigorous exercise.
2. Solidify relationships: None can deny that virtual games can be formed by teams: multiple players working toward a common goal. This is admirable. It does not, however, compensate for the real world successes. Outdoor sports keep individuals motivated and together, offering an instant sense of camaraderie. The stakes are higher because they're genuine. This allows for immediate friendships and deeper relationships.
3. Utilize strategy: Playing games is proven to sharpen analytical skills and aid in complex thinking processes. Sports help to put these to broader uses, though. Leadership requires more than boldness; it instead needs insight into situations and their consequences. Planning is vital. Choosing an outdoor event allows individuals to apply their skills and see the rewards.
The appeal of games can't be lessened. It must, however, be met with moderation and movement. Both must blend together to create a life fully actualized.
