One of the finest places to play golf in North America is in Canada's east coast province of Prince Edward Island. This picture doesn't do justice to the beauty of this part of Canada.
PEI lies just off the coast of New Brunswick and, in fact, is linked to the mainland by a long causeway.
Once you're on the island, you quickly discover how compact it is; everything is close at hand, including the province's more than 20 excellent golf courses.
The majority of the courses are located centrally on the island with several more on the east coast and a handful on the west side of PEI.
Golf Digest has rated The Links at Crowbush Cove as one of its Top 50 to play in North America.
Not far away is Dundarave, where last year's Legends of Golf competition featuring Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson was played.
Suffice it to say, there is no shortage of superb golf experiences to be had in Prince Edward Island!
The accommodation, food and friendliness on the island all warrant a full five stars along with the golf. I know this first hand!
At the recent Toronto Golf Show, I had a conversation with Kent MacDonald from GolfPEI, the umbrella organization that markets golf in the province.
Here's what he had to say.
