Golf Interviews
by Chris Henry on March 29, 2009

About 2 and a half years ago, I came across a website called GolfBug.tv.
It was one of the earliest sources of televised golf on the web, what we now know as Internet Protocol TV or IPTV.
The product was the brainchild of Andrew Cooke, a former marketing executive with Octagon Marketing in the U.K. Octagon Marketing is a huge sports and entertainment marketing firm that has been extensively involved in everything from golf to Formula One to the Olympics.
But moving from an enormous company like that, with its tremendous support structures and into the unproven world of IPTV with a small golf start-up was a huge step for Andrew.
In 2007, thanks to GolfBug TV's success, another firm making big inroads with IPTV, called Simply Media, took a shine to GolfBug and acquired a majority stake.
Andrew Cooke still holds part of the company and has, in fact, developed another called Simply Sports Media which now contains GolfBug TV and two other sports-related internet TV operations.
Recently, I spoke with Andrew to find out how GolfBug TV's been doing and what the future holds.
You can download and listen to the 15 minute interview by clicking on the link below. The download shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes at the most.
