Lawrie Rivals Trump

Last week was quite a week in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Not only did the Scottish government overturn a local council decision and approve The Donald's massive 2 billion dollar golf splash but it also approved a much smaller – and I'll bet, far better – golf project by Scottish professional, Paul Lawrie.
Lawrie's project pales next to Trump's. Lawrie's golf complex will "only" create a thousand jobs down the road, compared to Trump's 12 hundred.
Lawrie's price tag is a mere 225 million dollars versus Trump's 2 billion dollar cost.
And his course will be surrounded by only 280 new homes. Trump's effort boasts nearly 1500.
But where Trump says his course will be "the best in the world" – better, we presume than St. Andrew's or Turnberry, for example – Lawrie says his course will be good enough to host the Ryder Cup.
I put my money on Lawrie.
I have no idea what the economic conditions are in Scotland, but I’m not too envious of someone taking on a $225,000,000 building project, much less a $2,000,000,000 project.
Thanks,
Bill
