Michelle Wie Wisens Up
There finally seems to be a note of reason sounding in Michelle Wie's camp.

Her swing coach, David Leadbetter, says the 17 year old will concentrate on playing on the women's tour and forget about trying to compete in men's events.

Hallelujah for common sense.

Wie's quixotic efforts at proving a point have resulted in several injuries, the latest being a wrist injury that has sidelined her since January.

Leadbetter says she will return to action in about four weeks' time at the Ginn Tribute tournament in South Carolina.

The high profile swing coach says Wie needs to establish herself on the women's tour before turning her sights elsewhere.

Isn't that what most of the golfing world has been saying for several years now?

It's good that Wie is returning to action and sticking to the LPGA Tour. One upcoming tournament this summer should be right in her wheelhouse.

The women's British Open is being played on the Old Course at St. Andrew's and it will be played over a record length for the women's tournament.

The players will tee it up on a course that will measure more than 6600 yards and play to a par 73 instead of a par 72.

The Road Hole, number 17, will be played as a par 5 over a distance of 453 yards.

Michelle Wie should eat it up.
