Scotland is bracing for a rush of major golf events to its shores.
And various Scottish bodies are undertaking some high-level marketing efforts to wring the maximum advantage out of the opportunities.
Scotland and golf have been in the news off and on for the past six months as Donald Trump battles local politics while national politicians try to find a way to accommodate his enormous golf resort plans. The ones that are potentially ruinous for the environment.
But the golf scene in Scotland is much, much bigger (their famous public courses notwithstanding) and a variety of tourism and golf-focused organizations are working in harmony with each other to achieve their collective goals.
It's a perfect example of how to market golf properly and keep the game growing at the grass-roots level all at the same time.
In other words, it's an object lesson for all golf organizations, big and small.
