Shake Up Your Body

I have recently watched a couple of episodes from one of those weight-loss reality shows on TV at the moment.
You know, the ones where they start with someone who is about 300 pounds and whittle them down to about half that weight.
It makes for bizarre television, to say the least, but that's pretty much par for the course in the 500-channel cable universe these days.
There are two fundamentals that are always underscored in these programs.
The first is intention. Without intention, you will never change.
The other is diet. Without a proper diet, you will never change. Of course, if you embrace intention, then changing your diet won't be a problem.
Former athlete and current golf trainer, Mike Pedersen, is a big advocate of diet (he took on "intention" years ago when he was a full-time decathlete).
On one of his websites, he has a recipe for a protein shake that sounds delicious.
Protein, as Mike points out, is the building block of muscle. And you want to build muscle to become a stronger golfer, don't you?!
North Americans spend hundreds of billions of dollars a year on health care to repair, fix, remove or change something that's not right in their bodies. The pharmaceutical companies love it and their shareholders get nice dividend increases because of it.
I call it reactive health care because it's always chasing the symptom and not the cause.
Often, it's diet related.
Check out Mike's recipe and give it a try. You'll be practicing proactive health care for a change.
And you get to take back your power to send your life in the direction YOU want it to go in.
