Sinking Putts and Closing Deals

Golf is such a useful game. It can serve many purposes. It can be the sport that your doctor tells you to take up to reduce stress. So it is a healthy activity.
It can be a pursuit akin to a hobby that occupies one's spare time. So it is a pastime.
It can be the break from a hectic week at the office, the pause that refreshes. And so it is relaxing.
Or it can be an extension of the office where the golf course becomes the locale for talking business and closing deals.
In fact, golf as a business tool is critical to many business people. My colleague, Robert Thompson, golf writer for The National Post, WorldGolf.com, Score Magazine and his own blog site, Going for the Green, is currently writing a book about CEOs who are avid golfers.
So the concept of using golf to acquire business is not new.
What may be new is how to do it properly. I discovered that in a recent interview with Scot Duke.
Scot is a Texan who has written about, lectured on and conducted seminars with business people on what he calls "business golf" and how to play it the right way.
If you are a business person who plays golf, then you need to listen to what Scot Duke has to say.
Fortunately, you can because I am posting the interview today!!
And you can listen to it here. As usual, allow a couple of minutes for the download and then sit back for Scot Duke on Business Golf. The interview runs just over ten minutes.
