Striving. Always Striving

I have received another comment strongly in favor of the new swing that's making waves on tour: the Stack and Tilt by Mike Bennett and Andy Plummer.
This one comes from Steve. He says the swing is a boon for him for specific physical reasons. The wonderful bonus, he points out, is that he's striking the ball beautifully and his scores are way down.
Here's what he had to say:
"Anything new is generally met with skepticism. As with anything if it works for you do it - if it ain't broke don't fix it! For me this swing is a godsend. I have tried to shift weight like they all say for years. I can't do the orthodox shift well because I have clubbed feet and my right ankle especially gives me Hell. So I reckon I know a bit about trying to find a swing to make the shift easier. Probably the easiest I had found previously was to try and copy Moe's swing. Only thing was a severe lack of distance. Previous to that I used to swing back inside and used mostly body turn with most weight on the front (left) foot. Worked well but with severe low hooks. I read these guys and I see where I went wrong. They do what I was doing except with a neutral grip, more shoulder turn on the backswing and finishing higher, front on and turned right through to the target. It makes bucket loads of sense to me and after shooting 8 less than my handicap (20) last week it's as if someone just turned on all the lights. They say everyone has a different swing, but their premise of weight more forward to make it easier to get back there seems to make so much sense - I watch my mates swing (single figure handicappers) and I can see how they could benefit too. Only like most folks, they need to find out for themselves. This stuff is awesome."
There is no greater believer than the convert!
I played my first round on Saturday - a late start due to work constraints and some fruitless sessions at the range.
I seem to have ironed out a flaw or two for the time being and was striking the ball very well. So I can empathize with Steve as he finds possible golf salvation with Stack and Tilt.
However, one point was pounded home to me via my putter, yesterday. I three and four putted too often.
Even though I wasn't keeping score (what's the point in the first round of the season?), I quickly realized that if I put even half the effort into my short game and my putting stroke as I do in my full swing, I'd be able to boast some very respectable scores at the end of the day.
