Many folks don't know that betting is a very popular activity in the world of golf. For the most part sportsbook establishments seem to rake in customers interested in gambling on their favorite soccer, football, baseball or basketball team. There is however a pretty large group of sports gamblers who are fanatic about golf odds.
Betting on golf is pretty much the same as betting for any sport. You want to research each individual players history to see how well they typically play and how often they win championships. The big difference with golf as compared with most sports is that you are analyzing the history of individuals rather than teams. This can mean a lot more work for someone who doesn't know a lot about golf from the start, however, it is easy to find statistical information online.
Compare all participants in a golfing match before making your bet. It is likely they have all done well in general, you just need to choose the golfer that has done the best on average. Remember to take into account things like slope rating. After you have found the player you feel will do the best, then bet away.
HA! Betting was one of the biggest reasons that I started golfing. Of course, I stopped betting after a while, but I still love the game!
I’m not much good at betting but I always try to study the form before the majors and pick someone who I think might do well. (I’m probably a bookies favorite). I fancied Kaymer all year in the majors and won a fair bit after the USPGA so I guess I’ll have to keep going with my bets for now!
