The FedEx Heats Up

Two down; two to go. We're halfway through the first annual FedEx Cup playoff season on the PGA Tour.
How did the second of the four tournaments stack up in terms of playoff excitement?
I'm still not sure. But the Deutsche Bank did have several aspects that made it a great tournament to watch.
First, the play of the lesser lights - the guys who are well down in the double digits in terms of their world rankings: the Wetterichs, Oberholsers and Malingers showed they've got not just the shots but the guts to go for the glory. And hold together while doing it.
But of course, there was the Tiger-Phil head-to-head clash. And it was interesting.
It's said these two don't get along. It's not that they don't like each other but I think they regard each other as THE competition on tour.
It appeared the only words exchanged were short phrases like "I'll finish" or "excuse me".
Indeed, these two have stared each other down more times than the Williams sisters in the final of a Grand Slam
.And their record is pretty even.
So, now Phil is number one in the awkward FedEx Cup points standings while Tiger is third just ahead of K.J.Choi.
Maybe the PGA has something taking hold after all.
