Nonmembers are able to golf the course as guests and can choose to start on either the North Course or the South Course. Bear's Best Golf Course
Bear's Best is not only one of the best golf courses in Atlanta; it's also one of the best golf courses in the entire country. Designed by Jack Nicklauss, this 18-hole course is located in Suwanee, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. The main focus of the courses is to host corporate events and golf outings; however, people can still play the course for a daily fee. Atlanta Athletic Club

and would like to find a private golf club, look no further than the Atlanta Athletic Club. Located on-site are two 18-hole championship level courses. Golf aficionados will be excited to learn that the Atlanta Athletic Club hosted the PGA Championship in 2011. This private golf course and country club requires a current member's invitation. In addition, the invitee must be well-known to the sponsoring member. If you would like to simply try out the golf course, a member can invite you to come and play one of the courses as a guest.
Indian Creek Golf Club
While there are many country club options, there are also elite public courses available to play as well. Indian Creek Golf Club is a public course which doesn't skimp on quality. Designed by Desmond Muirhead, this course opened in 1997 and is located just outside of Atlanta in Covington, Georgia. The course features 18 challenging holes set against a beautiful backdrop in the outskirts of Atlanta. To play 18 holes of golf at this course will cost between $39 and $49 a round, depending on the day of the week. There are discount rates for twilight golf and 9-hole rounds as well.
The Creek at Hard Labor State Park
Another option for a public course in Atlanta is The Creek at Hard Labor State Park. This course is well-known in the area, and it boasts the hardest starting hole in the state of Georgia. Highlights of this course include a challenging layout set against the beautiful, natural landscape of a state park. To play an 18-hole round of golf at The Creek at Hard Labor State Park will cost between $35 and $45 a round, depending on if you are playing during the week or on the weekend.
